There are thousands of fragrances in the world of perfumery, and each of them can evoke different emotions and associations, because we are all individual. However, there are notes and chords that, despite their rarity and high cost, are not always understood by men.
Iris
This powdery fragrance is associated with old-fashioned (so-called “grandmotherly”) perfumes. Iris notes sound exquisite and refined, but men sometimes consider them too outdated. This is unfair, because it is iris that gives fragrances a special depth and a kind of intrigue. But you can’t order your nose!
Oud
This fragrance is often described as woody and warm. At the same time, it gives the perfume an aura of strength and authority. That is why some men find this perfume chord rough and not too sexy.
Grey ambergris
Ambergris is one of the most expensive and prestigious ingredients in perfumery. However, some representatives of the opposite sex assure: the scent of gray ambergris is boring and formal. This note is often used in everyday, office fragrances, which clearly creates associations with dull everyday life.
Musk
To find perfumes without musk in the pyramid is quite difficult, because this chord is often used in the base to strengthen the stability of the fragrance. Rather, we are referring to perfumes where musk plays the main role. And although this note has the potential of aphrodisiac, some men consider it “murderous”, “chemotic” and not causing special desire.
Vanilla
In general, the smell of vanilla is considered the most attractive in the world. The main thing is to find the “right” vanilla, which will not smother with confectionery sweetness and interrupt the other components of the flavor. A parallel can be drawn here with vanilla flavor in baked goods. Vanilla extracts and vanillin cost pennies, but it’s easy to overdo it and ruin the flavor of the dish. Real vanilla is sold in tiny portions and costs a completely different amount of money – but it is a real pleasure.
We remind you that perception of flavors is very subjective, and what one person likes, another person may not like. Don’t take your preferences in fragrances too seriously, as they may change with time and situations.
